Antique Cream Separator

Antique cream separator

This curious looking planter is probably unknown to most of the people of my generation. But quite a familiar and a much used instrument for farming families long ago. This is a drawing I made of a hand-cranked cream separator. This one hasn’t been used to separate anything other than flowers in my lifetime. But back in the day were really handy for the job of separating the cream from fresh milk, a valuable commodity in the kitchen. My grandmother often remarked how much of a pain they were to clean after using it. A fine second act for an old antique.
