Old Rusty Tractor

rusty tractor

I took a picture of this tractor some months back while I was jogging down some of these Virginia back roads. It’s obvious to anyone that this iron work horse gave up the ghost many years ago. And is now nothing more than a rusting corpse left abandoned in the back end of someone’s lot. A lot which coincidentally once belonged to an uncle of mine many years ago.

I don’t know much about tractors. And I can’t tell you much of anything about this one. Other than it’s old and probably well past the point of salvaging it. But scenes like this are fairly common where I’m at. Why do people just leave good (or maybe broken down) equipment outside in the weather never to be moved again? Like a kid with a toy he is no longer interested in, it quickly becomes forgotten about while the owner moves on to new business and adventures.
