The Apple Fest

The Apple Fest which is held annually this time of year at Gross’s Orchard is one of Bedford’s bigger events. I went for the first time yesterday while helping out the local Ruritans Club with their booth. We were preoccupied most of the day with making apple butter and Brunswick stew so I didn’t get much of a chance to draw, or even sight see the rest of the festival. At least we got to enjoy the music from all the local singers and bands who dropped in and serenaded us. But if you had money to burn and a Saturday to kill the Apple Fest was as good a place as any to do it. Between the scenic views of the surrounding mountains, the friendly natives, beautiful weather, and all the bits and bobs to check out, there was truly something for everyone.
